Christmas Eve at Home With the Dogs
(A special Christmas story written for our family and friends)
It’s Tuesday evening, and it’s Christmas Eve. The dogs who think they are human are enjoying themselves. Bowser has gotten into the lights and is all tangled up in them. George with his bright red antlers is trying to stay out of trouble, and Sadie, a proper lady, is just laying on the couch watching.
Bowser got nosy in the tree and while he was checking it out, he lifted his leg on it. The tree “got him back”. George doesn’t like his antlers, but being a good dog, he is wondering “What’s the matter with Bowser? What kinda trouble is he in? Am I in trouble too?”
Sadie got in trouble too for being on the couch, but she is thinking “What are they doing? They are really going to get scolded!
Their family went shopping and then they went to a Christmas party, but the dogs hadn’t had supper. When the family got home, the dogs got scolded. The first job for Mom and Dad was to get the lights off Bowser and then clean up the mess. The kids with Mom and Dad put the lights back on the tree.
The dogs were put in the garage while the family cleaned up the mess. It is cold outside, so the garage is a little warmer. If they come back in, Bowser will get in trouble again.
After everything was cleaned, they fed the dogs and gave them fresh water. The parents had eaten a little at the party but they now fed the kids and enjoyed some food with them. They had chili, ham, and some Christmas cookies. Tomorrow they will have ham, turkey with all the fixin’s, cranberry sauce, sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream. LOTS of whipped cream! LOTS and LOTS of whipped cream!
After they ate, they re-lighted the tree and then sat around telling Christmas Eve stories, sang carols, and opened presents. The kids said they were thankful for their presents. After a little while they went to bed and had pleasant dreams.
Merry Christmas, Folks! We Love you! Happy Holidays!
