Doggie Showdown, featuring Kevin Heart, the Rock Star
Created by 3rd to 5th grade students at Cleveland City School ASU Summer Camp 2015
Kevin Heart is a Chihuahua with a lot of talent. He has been playing the guitar for almost a year now and he plays in a rock ‘n roll band. He is sitting in a cup because that’s how rock ‘n roll goes. He practices in the garage in his beer cup.
His hair is important and Kevin gets his hair done at a dog salon where his mom’s a dog hairdresser. The salon is named “Doggie Rock n’ Roll Hair Salon.” He gets his glasses at the lens place next to the beer place.
Elvis is his idol and he plays lots of his songs, but his favorite is “You Ain’t Nuthin’ But a Hound Dog.” He and his band play this and other songs wherever they go. His band is called “The Rockin’ Dogs” and has five members plus some crew members.
Playing keyboard is an Alaskan Husky while the electric bass is played by a Bulldog. The Collie plays drums because he is tall enough to reach them. The lead singer is a beautiful Golden Retriever.
A St. Bernard is the roadie. A roadie is someone that goes along with the band to set up the equipment and make sure everything is working right before the band goes on stage. And their manager is a Dalmatian. He is the one that finds them places to play and makes plans for their travel.
The band is about to start their “Doggie Rocks Tour” in June 2015. They will start in Cleveland TN go to Chicago, New York City, Chattanooga, Los Angeles, Orlando, Austin, Hollywood, Atlanta, Albuquerque, Las Vegas and Houston. They will make $2000 dollars for each performance and will divide it up equally between all seven of them. Maybe they will become famous!

When he is done, he will give the papers back to the students to write an essay about Chihuahuas. The essays will be graded by his partner, the president of the school whose name is Dr. Fred Harry.
After work, Jethro sits on the couch watching TV and eating hamburgers with Coke and a bone for dessert. He is watching Rocket Science but also enjoys Sponge Bob and Elmo. On Saturday, he watches Bill Nye the Science Guy and sometimes even some cartoons.
Jethro is asking his owner who adopted him to sharpen his pencil. As a hobby Jethro has made machines, a pencil sharpener, robots, calculators and mechanical pencils. He warns people not to put the mechanical pencil in the pencil sharpener.
Jethro lives in a dog mansion where he has lived for two years. He bought the materials and had it built. It is 10 feet long, 60 feet wide and 11 feet high. It is built of birch wood with bone trim. The mansion has a gym for exercise, a race track and a football field in the back yard. He has a butler and a bunch of friends. One day a month, Jethro goes to the pound and brings all the dogs home to play in his yard. When they go back to the pound, they have had a happy day.
